FAQ

The FAQ section is here to help with any questions you have. You'll find quick answers to common queries, making it easier for you to get the info you need about our products and services.

How Much Are Lessons?

Lessons depends on age and time. For Ages 5 - 10: I recommend just 30 minutes sessions at $15. This is more than half the price of other local piano teachers.

11 - adult students: I recommend more focused lessons at 60 minutes. This age group is $25 per hour/lesson. Of course I am flexible if you would like 30 or 45 minute options for reduced pricing.

What Do We Need To Get Started?

You will need a digital piano at home. I recommend something that has 88 keys and has fully-weighted keys. I can recommend a variety of options and adjust within your budget.

Students must also cover the price of their books. I will provide links to the material so that you can purchase these items. Expect to pay around $20 - $30.

Are there any registration, cancellation, or other late/ hidden fees?

I do not charge any of these fees. The only price you will pay is the lesson fee, and for your own personal equipment and books that you purchase on your own. I strive to make lessons affordable as much as I can because I am passionate about the development of musical abilities and am eager to spread the knowledge.

How do I Start?

What Experience/ Qualifications Do You Have?

I've studied music passionately for 24 years - since the age of 10. I primarily played in concert and jazz bands all the way through college and have enjoyed the alto saxophone, singing, drum set, and of course - piano. I am an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, constantly seeking to improve in self-development and participating in webinars to master the art of pedagogy and piano technique.

How Often Do I Attend Lessons?

Lessons occur once a week on a day of scheduling that works best for us. Between lessons, you are provided how and what to practice to ensure you meet your goals. The student portal is a great resource to ask questions, watch example videos, and track your practice habits.

Am I Too Old To Learn Piano?

Never! Abandon the myth that children learn and absorb instruments easier! Adults have the advantage of time management, high motivation and quick understanding of advance concepts that help them excel. Some of my favorite students are adults! I even have students at the age of 80 years old! Remember - Grandmother Moses didn't start painting until she was 78 years old, and she became impressively famous and had paintings sell for over 1 million dollars!

Where Do You Teach/ Are there Online Classes?

I teach in Killeen, Texas from my home studio. You will learn on a large acoustic grand piano to ensure you develop the best skills and habits.

I do not offer online classes, as I enjoy the in-person interactive process and can provide live feedback and critique for improvement.

Will There Be Recitals?

Yes! Our next recital will be December 2025. As a Steinway Educational Partner, students will have the great opportunity to perform on a Steinway Grand Piano at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Austin, Texas.
